Moving the Goalposts is looking for an experienced Child Protection Officer to lead the new MTG child protection department. The role of the Child Protection Officer is to strengthen the organizational Child Protection Policy, spearhead child rights advocacy and implement programs that ensure that the rights of girls participating in MTG’s programs are safeguarded.

Main Responsibilities • Plan, coordinate and implement activities that strengthen the MTG child protection policy • Work closely with MTG departments and other relevant stakeholders to ensure that cases of abuse reported by girls in the program are dealt with conclusively • Develop user friendly working materials for MTG volunteers, staff, partners and any other relevant stakeholders working with MTG programs to guide their operations while working with MTG girls • Develop a Training Manual for staff, Volunteers and partner organizations on issues of Child Safeguarding • Write reports • Provide support in the process of follow-up within the legal system • Develop monitoring and evaluation framework for child safeguarding program • Mobilize resources and write proposals for funds to implement child protection and safeguarding projects in MTG. • Any other duties Qualifications:  A University degree in Law or related fields  Admitted to the bar in Kenya  Experience in children’s rights cases and advocacy  Good knowledge of and technical expertise in two or more of the following areas: sports and development, gender, HIV, sexual and reproductive health, gender based violence, advocacy, working with youth, young women, rights and youth leadership, Counseling  At least 3 years’ experience working in implementing child protection programs  Excellent English communication skills, good Swahili is an advantage  Demonstrated excellent English writing abilities  A certificate of good conduct
