Human beings are equal in dignity and rights. Women being equal to men, want to live in a society where all women-mothers, sisters, daughters, granddaughters, wives feel safe ,have an adequate standard of living and are not subjected to any form of violence. Despite the existence of a strong legal framework in Kenya that forbids sexual violence, it is saddening that sexual assault is still rife in the country. For instance, the Wendy Kemunto case whereby she was raped by two rugby players is a clear indication of the extent of moral decadence in the society. However, there is still hope for humanity. A wise man once said, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.” Therefore, let us all join hands and condemn such heinous acts and ensure that justice is done.
