The Genderthon is an annual 12km race whose aim is to raise awareness around Gender-Based Violence in Kenya and also seek your support in bringing it to an end in Kenya. The Genderthon theme is “a billion reasons to run,a billion reasons to end gender based violence “.

WHY GET INVOLVED? There are a billion reasons to run and a billion reasons to end gender-based violence. Your participation in this event not only guarantees that you engage in an exciting physical fitness activity but also marks your contribution to making Kenya a safer country for women , girls ,men and boys.

Your support will go towards supporting at least 5,000 women and girls, who are GBV survivors access medical help , counselling ,free legal advice and free legal representation in court .

Your support will also help women and girls receive training on economic empowerment opportunities that will give them ability to earn and transform their lives.

Your support will also go towards growing a network of at least 1000 male champions in Nairobi who will work with young men and boys as role models and champions for the rights of all.

We intend to carry out these activities in affected areas in Nairobi including but not limited to Embakassi Mathare , Starehe sub counties and which have a high prevalence of gender based violence.
